Governance controls are applied consistently across channels, data sources, and integrations. Agent behavior is not discretionary or self-directed; it is constrained by organization-defined policies that are enforced at runtime within the customer’s Private Dedicated Environment (PDE).

This model is designed to align AI operation with enterprise security standards, internal controls, and regulatory obligations.

Runtime Approach

Governance controls in GSX are enforced at runtime within the customer’s Private Dedicated Environment (PDE). Policies are actively evaluated as agents execute tasks in production, rather than functioning as static configuration settings. This approach enables organizations to update controls, adjust thresholds, and respond to evolving risk conditions without rebuilding underlying infrastructure, while maintaining consistent enforcement across channels and integrations.

Policy-Driven Execution

AI agents operate according to explicit, organization-defined policies that determine permitted actions, data access scope, escalation requirements, and approval thresholds. These policies are embedded in agent configurations and enforced during execution. Agents cannot exceed the boundaries defined by the customer’s governance rules, ensuring alignment with internal controls, security standards, and regulatory obligations.

Human Oversight

GSX incorporates configurable Human-in-the-Loop controls that allow organizations to require review, approval, or intervention based on predefined criteria such as confidence levels, topic sensitivity, or transaction risk. Human oversight can be mandatory for defined workflows or triggered dynamically when thresholds are exceeded. All human interventions, approvals, and overrides are logged to support auditability and operational review.

Explicit Limits on Autonomy

Agent autonomy is bounded by enforceable limits defined by the organization. Customers may restrict autonomous execution for high-risk actions, require escalation for sensitive requests, or prohibit specific categories of activity entirely. When defined thresholds are reached, agents pause or escalate rather than proceeding independently. This ensures that AI-driven workflows remain subject to clear supervisory control and do not operate beyond authorized parameters.

Agent Lifecycle Management

The Generative Studio X (GSX) platform provides structured lifecycle controls governing the design, deployment, monitoring, and retirement of AI agents. These controls are intended to align AI operation with enterprise governance, security, and compliance requirements.

Prior to deployment, AI agents are configured with explicit, enforceable policies that define:

  • Permitted and restricted actions

  • Data access scope

  • Escalation requirements

  • Human approval thresholds

  • Channel-specific behavior rules

Policies are embedded within the agent configuration and enforced at runtime. Organizations can restrict autonomous execution for defined workflows or require human approval before specified actions are taken.

Policies governing permitted actions, escalation paths, and data access are applied uniformly across workflows, reducing configuration drift and supporting consistent governance enforcement.

Context-Aware Permissions

Agent permissions are scoped by role, task, and operational context. Access and execution privileges are evaluated at runtime based on defined criteria such as user identity, transaction type, or data sensitivity, ensuring least-privilege operation appropriate to each interaction.

Constraints on Actions, Integrations, & Data Access

Organizations explicitly define which actions agents may execute, which systems they can access, and what data they are permitted to use. These constraints are enforced at runtime, limiting unauthorized behavior and reducing the potential impact of errors or unexpected outputs.

Human-in-the-Loop Controls

The Generative Studio X (GSX) platform supports configurable Human-in-the-Loop (HitL) governance controls that allow organizations to define when and how human oversight is required in AI-driven workflows.

Human review and intervention policies can be enforced based on:

Organizations can require human approval before responses are delivered, restrict autonomous action for defined workflows, or allow monitored autonomy depending on use case risk.

GSX includes a native Live Agent interface designed for supervised AI workflows.

The interface allows authorized personnel to:

  • Monitor active AI-driven conversations

  • Intervene in real time

  • Override responses

  • Approve or reject outputs before delivery

  • Assume full control of the interaction

Access to this interface is governed by role-based access control (RBAC) and may integrate with enterprise identity providers (SAML/OIDC).

All actions taken within the interface are logged for audit purposes.

GSX can integrate with third-party contact center and service platforms such as Genesys and Salesforce.

In these configurations:

  • AI activity remains subject to GSX governance policies

  • Human intervention can occur within the organization’s existing agent environment

  • Conversation data handling follows the customer’s configured data boundaries

Human agents may be:
